Acute limb ischaemia in two young, non-atherosclerotic patients with COVID-19

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was announced a pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020. As of May 3, 2020, Italy is one of the countries hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, with 28 884 confirmed deaths. In addition to pulmonary insufficiency, COVID-19 is associated with other life-threatening complications such as sepsis, heart failure, and pulmonary embolism. Here we describe patients with COVID-19 who presented with acute limb ischaemia but did not have atherosclerosis, atrial fibrillation, or pre-existing blood clotting disorders.
